Emre Deniz is a multi-award winning game and technology developer responsible for founding Opaque Space and the Earthlight franchise, working in a range of projects spanning defense, games to astronautical training.
He is internationally recognized for his work in Virtual and Mixed Reality, having been previously named by MCV Pacific 30 Under 30 award list as ‘one of the most influential figures in VR in Australia’ and among the first developers of commercial VR applications in the ANZ region.
In the past 5+ years, Emre has been involved in various VR/AR productions with clients and collaborators ranging from NASA, United States Airforce, HTC, Epic, Microsoft, Google to domestic parties such as the Melbourne Fringe Festival, Australian Defense Force and ACMI.
In 2017, he steered Opaque Space to becoming the Australian Studio of the Year as well as winning a number of awards, including the Australian Game of the Year with Earthlight, and partnering with Boeing on the CST Starliner VR Trainer for commercial astronaut missions.
In 2018, he was one of the inventors of the Adaptive Intelligent Virtual Assessor (AIVA) which went onto providing training solutions for the Australian Defense Force and United States Airforce using XR technologies, with Emre departing following these contracts to pursue his passions in the games industry.
Emre has been an active advocate for diversity, accessibility and ethical development in VR and regularly speaks at conferences and lectures on game design, community building and development in new platforms.
